Adventure of Streak 2

The red soul ring pulses once in Streak’s palm. He seals it inside a compartment in his robotic forearm as the EXE’s dust scatters beyond anything left to consume.

Streak turns toward the damaged shelter. The structure creaks overhead, shedding dust through the violet light, while the mother and father cautiously lead their four children from the rear passage.

The children stay close together behind their parents, staring at Streak’s sealed forearm. Another long creak rolls through the shelter, and the mother glances toward the unstable ceiling.

Streak lowers his sealed forearm and lets the blackness drain from his face, leaving his ordinary features visible again. The children remain behind their parents, wary but unharmed.

The smallest child peeks around the mother’s side. Another grips a sibling’s sleeve, but none retreat as Streak steps away from the shelter’s unstable entrance.

The four children slowly emerge from behind their parents. Their eyes stay fixed on Streak’s face rather than his weapon, and the shelter’s creaking frame finally settles into silence.

A fresh opening gapes through the shelter wall beside Streak, its edges cracked but passable. Dust sifts from the ceiling as another heavy groan rolls through the frame.

The father ushers the children forward while the mother keeps one hand extended behind them, guiding the smallest through first. The family reaches the other side together.

The ceiling buckles behind Streak, dropping a veil of dust across the ruined entrance. Outside, the family gathers clear of the wall, shaken but safely beyond the shelter’s failing frame.

Streak holds the buckling debris overhead as the family clears the shelter. Dust churns around him, and the remaining wall groans under its own failing weight.

The mother pulls the children farther across the open ground while the father shields them with his body. Behind Streak, the collapse seals the original passage.

Streak drives his robotic fist into the weakened wall. Concrete and twisted framing burst outward, opening a jagged hole while his arm keeps the falling debris from crushing the escape route.

Streak retracts his fist, drops low, and slides through the fresh hole as the shelter folds behind him. Dust swallows the breach, then rolls across the ground in a thick cloud.

Outside, the family gathers around the children, coughing and shaken. The mother reaches toward Streak through the settling dust, while the father stares at the collapsed shelter.

Streak gives them a reassuring smile through the settling dust. With the shelter collapsed behind him, the open ground offers space, air, and no immediate threat.

The mother lowers her hand and steadies the nearest child. The other children remain clustered around the father, watching Streak with wary relief instead of panic.

The father looks from the ruined shelter to Streak, accepting his reassurance but still focused on moving the family. The four children gather close, ready to follow whichever direction Streak indicates.
