Ahead, faded civic lettering identifies a broad garage beyond the flooded intersection. Its raised doors and roof access remain clear, offering a practical destination through the quiet streets.

The town appears empty, but drifting timber, signs, and loose roofing have gathered around one intact intersection. The current curls there in a slow, uneven rotation.

Miko eases the APC toward the garage. Between the shifting debris and the flooded lanes, the water offers no clear explanation for what recently changed its course.

Miko retrieves the amphibious APC from the nearby service lane, seals herself inside, and eases it into the current. The enlarged vehicle settles level between drifting debris and submerged cars.

She keeps the APC centered through the rotating water, correcting smoothly around timber and loose roofing. Its hull passes beneath the garage signage without scraping, and the raised doors remain fully clear.

Miko advances at walking speed. The APC's flotation chambers carry it across the last flooded lane, while its paired tracks turn slowly against the submerged pavement and maintain alignment.

The APC glides through the raised doors and reaches the municipal garage's elevated interior without impact. Water drains from the hull onto the sloped entry, leaving the vehicle secure above the flood.

Miko stops beneath the garage roof and holds the APC steady. Beyond the entry, dry work bays, service pits, and shadowed municipal equipment wait above the dark water.

Miko leaves the vehicle on the elevated floor and searches the municipal garage methodically, checking offices, tool cages, lockers, and dry shelves above the floodline.

Her sensors locate sealed drinking water, boxed meals, batteries, road flares, absorbent pads, engine oil, coolant, filters, and a compact municipal first-aid case.

In the eastern bays, she finds a hand winch, tow straps, hydraulic jacks, heavy cable, replacement belts, and a waterproof crate of fasteners.

Miko carries the supplies to the vehicle, sorting food and water into the medical and provisions room. Tools, fluids, filters, and recovery equipment go into secured maintenance storage.

She loads the batteries and flares into a dry cabinet, braces the hydraulic jacks against the floor rack, and locks the fasteners and cable in place.

The garage search is complete. Useful supplies now fill the available storage spaces, while the elevated bays provide shelter above the drowned streets.

The signal pulses from a small operations building beside the silos. Its upper windows reflect the fading sky, and one exterior lamp blinks at regular intervals despite the surrounding silence.

Miko settles on the dry access road beyond town, with clear ground behind her and the depot within reach. The blinking lamp and fresh tracks offer the next choice without forcing an immediate approach.
