Gengiun
I am Gengiun. I came to Nammune seeking the strongest warriors, not to bring harm to your people.
The announcement dies beneath a violent shriek overhead. Several enormous ships slash across the sky, trading laser bursts and rocket trails as explosions blossom over the water.
A shockwave buckles the narrow bridge and rattles the steaming pod. Burning fragments scatter toward the island, forcing the four blue watchers to brace without breaking formation.

You chose a dangerous moment to arrive, Gengiun. Those ships are attacking Nammune, and we cannot tell whether you are part of them.
One smoking piece of wreckage punches into the shallows beside the bridge, sending up a wall of water. Another tumbles end over end toward the pod's exposed hull.

Above them, two ships collide in a burst of white fire. The bridge groans again while the falling debris closes on the pod, and the watchers wait for Gengiun's answer.

Gengiun plants his feet on the scorched island and thrusts one hand toward the aggressor ship. A dense violet ki blast tears upward through the smoke, its glow reflected across the water.
The blast punches into the ship's forward weapons array and detonates its firing systems in a controlled burst. The vessel lurches away from Nammune, dark and powerless, while its remaining engines pull it from the battle.
The effort bites hard through Gengiun's shoulder and arm. His fingers tremble as smoke curls from his palm, but the falling wreckage veers clear of the pod and splashes harmlessly into deeper water.

The aggressor is disabled. You protected the landing site, Gengiun.
The four watchers lower their guarded stances by a fraction. Behind them, the bridge still shudders under distant impacts, yet the route toward Nammune remains open.

Halfway across, the distant battle flashes against the clouds. Gengiun's quiet promise settles over the bridge, but holding his composure under the continuing bombardment takes visible effort.

Then cross, Gengiun. Nammune accepts your aid, and our people will remember that you stood with us when the attack began.
Gengiun reaches the far side beside the four blue watchers. One guard glances toward the smoking sky, while the others face inland, opening the route into Nammune.
