The city of spires rises through silver cloud as Asher enters the council hall, where nine enchanted arches blaze with the sigils of gathered realms.

Delegates in jewel-bright robes stand beneath the vaulted light. Then a lost oracle, an elderly woman with white braids, ash-dark skin, and a blue mantle stitched in stars, bursts through the bronze doors.

Three masked palace guards pursue her in black lacquered armor. She stumbles into the circle, lifting a clear crystal whose heart shows a kingdom's falling star.

The Oracle

The Oracle

No blade. No spell. The star has fallen, and the one it chose stands before me.

Steel leaves scabbards around the chamber. Runes flare over raised hands, while the guards spread wide to cut off every escape beneath the glowing arches.

The Oracle

The Oracle

Asher luminar, take this. Before the palace claims it, you must carry the warning beyond the reach of kings.

The oracle extends the crystal toward Asher. Its reflected star trembles across his mismatched eyes as every weapon and spell turns toward the space between them.

Asher’s fingers close around the crystal. Arcane light folds inward from his palm, opening a silent eighth-tier pocket dimension like a dark star behind the world.

The oracle’s warning crystal vanishes into that unseen chamber, leaving no weight in Asher’s hand and no visible seam for any spell to follow.

The Oracle

The Oracle

Good. The kings cannot seize what they cannot reach.

The masked guards halt mid-step. Their raised weapons remain trained on Asher, but uncertainty ripples through the hall as the crystal’s reflected star disappears.

Now listen, chosen one. The falling star is not an omen. It is a door.

Across the nine arches, realm-sigils gutter and flare out of sequence. One arch fills with black snowfall, and a distant bell tolls from beyond its threshold.

Before the next bell, carry the warning beyond the palace walls. They will come for you when they understand what you have hidden.
