Eva launches from the rooftop, her luminous form sweeping over the railing and into the night. The watching patrons remain behind at the bar as her glow moves toward the river.
Below, Johnny's tiny motor scooter coughs into motion and noses down through unfamiliar streets. Its strained engine competes with traffic, music, and the footsteps of pedestrians.
Eva stays ahead, airborne and unmistakable, her pale radiance gliding between towers. At each intersection, Johnny catches another glimpse of her moving glow before buildings hide it again.
The scooter rattles past storefronts and turns toward the riverside promenade. The city gradually opens around him, replacing crowded lanes with trees, benches, and dark water beyond the rail.
Eva Flame
Johnny, stop following me. I need space to think.
Her voice carries down from somewhere ahead, but Eva does not descend. Her glow slows above a quieter stretch of promenade, hovering near an empty landing place.
The scooter's engine sputters as the riverside path opens before Johnny. Eva hangs in the air beyond the next row of trees, waiting or preparing to move on.
