Necromantic force drags the translucent elderly king fully into the throne’s cold light, pinning his spirit between the living hall and the sealed threshold. Below, the buried dead form a silent ring around the black lintel.

The Likeness Beneath the Throne
The memory is mine. I wore the crown, I shed the blood, and I alone shall name the hand that struck.

Arveth
No. You stole my face, Veyr. You will not steal the wound as well.
The command tightens. The translucent elderly king’s fragmented features settle into Veyr’s stolen likeness, and a spectral throne room blooms around him: overturned goblets, frightened courtiers, and a blade lifted behind the king.

The Summoned Revenant
The dead remember the moment, priestess. They do not yet remember the murderer’s name.

Arveth
I saw the killer enter beneath my banner. I saw the hand rise. The name lies behind this final wound, and it will not open.
The spectral blade descends, stopping just before the translucent elderly king’s chest. His stolen face cracks with pale light as one unseen detail begins forcing its way through the sealed memory.

“Force veyr to share the memory”
SUCCESS (Good Magic, rolled +1)

LeShandra tightens her necromantic grip around Veyr’s stolen likeness. Green fire threads through the spectral throne room, pinning the descending blade and prying open the sealed instant.

The Likeness Beneath the Throne
Then witness it, priestess. Witness whose hand made me king of the dead.
The blade’s fall reverses. The spectral chamber sharpens: Veyr stands beneath his banner while a hooded court physician, an elderly human man in charcoal robes with a stooped, narrow build and a silver beard braided with red thread enters behind him, carrying a silver bowl and a narrow black knife.

The Likeness Beneath the Throne
Odran came beneath my banner. He drugged the court, opened my guard, and drove the knife into my back.
The memory obeys the forced opening. The physician’s hood slips, revealing a narrow elderly face and a crown-shaped scar at his temple as he whispers over Veyr’s fallen body.

The Likeness Beneath the Throne
He did not murder me for Arveth. He murdered me to make the throne answer a name that had never belonged to either of us.

Arveth
Now I remember. Odran was the hand behind the crown, and the name beneath the throne was only his doorway.
