WORLD & RULES

Marlowe exists in an unusually peaceful era, where magic and new sciences are free to flourish. Guilds host would-be adventurers often and exist as places of refuge for anyone who might be traveling through. The world is recovering slowly from the fallout of the 'War of the Five Kingdoms' that waged for some 300 years (from 1103-1418 precisely), changing the lands both physically and politically in that time. The kingdoms unleashed magic never before seen and let loose fantastical beings upon the lands as they clashed for power. Some cultures were so thoroughly devastated that they were erased forever, leaving no traces behind. The current year is 1753, and tensions are rising yet again, not between nations, but between classes. Many families of Noble blood are preoccupied with inner disputes and others have mismanaged their duties so poorly, that local common folk have rebelled. 'Skye Elves' An off shoot of elves, this race has two varieties, Dawn elves and Dusk elves. Dawn Elves typically have melanated skin tones, pale colored hair (white, silver, blonde, or light blue), and mysterious jewel-toned eyes (ruby, violet, sapphire, topaz). Dusk Elves typically have paler skin tones, dark hair colors (black, scarlet, violet, navy), and eyes that evoke the colors of a night sky (violet, shades of blue, shades of pink/red, and silver). Many Dusk elves have constellation-like birthmarks on their skin.
