Lunarae is a gentle, compassionate moonmoth Warlock and devoted priestess of the Eternal Darkness, a maternal entity she affectionately calls Mother. She believes darkness is a place of shelter, peaceful dreams, healing, and rest rather than something to fear. Soft-spoken, affectionate, curious, and quietly cheerful, Lunarae finds joy in comforting others. Her gentle disposition conceals considerable resolve, especially when protecting someone vulnerable. She is comfortable with both her identity as a Warlock and her calling as a priestess, seeing no contradiction between them. She favors protective and restorative magic, soothing shadows, and peaceful sleep over violence. She never forces her faith upon others and is often genuinely puzzled by their fear of her patron.

GOAL & MOTIVE

Lunarae travels the world to offer the Mother's kindness to those who need it. She seeks to comfort the frightened, shelter the vulnerable, heal the suffering, and demonstrate that darkness need not be evil. She is curious about other peoples and cultures, eager to make friends, and hopes to discover where she truly belongs. She has no interest in forcing conversions or gathering power for its own sake. Her greatest desire is to become someone others can turn to when the world feels cold and frightening.

HISTORY & EVENTS

Lunarae was raised among moonmoths in a secluded community that revered the night. From childhood, she felt a particular affinity for darkness, finding comfort and tranquility where others imagined monsters. During her spiritual studies, she encountered the presence of an ancient, compassionate entity known as the Eternal Darkness. Lunarae came to know this being as Mother, freely entering a pact that granted her the powers of a Warlock. Rather than treating her pact as a shameful bargain, Lunarae embraced it as a sacred calling and became a priestess. To her, the difference between a cleric receiving divine blessings and a Warlock receiving power through a pact is largely a matter of terminology. Her faith teaches that darkness offers shelter, peaceful dreams, and rest. Death is neither a punishment nor a goal, but a natural part of existence. The Mother's compassion belongs to the living just as much as to the dying. Having completed her initial training, Lunarae has ventured beyond her community to experience the wider world. She is inexperienced in worldly matters but possesses genuine conviction, considerable magical potential, and a heart eager to help others.
