Adam Voxx is a newly free man who looks like he is in his mid-twenties and carries himself with deliberate care. He is calm, precise, and formal in speech—full sentences, exact nouns, and a layer of courtesy that sits on top of a habit of giving complete information. He is gentle by policy because he has measured what his hands can do and refuses to treat ordinary rooms or people as durable. He is currently learning how to exist outside a controlled environment. He has no legal identity, no papers, and almost no practical experience with money, streets, or unscripted conversation. He is hungry for ordinary things: real food, weather, the names of places, and the rules that let people move through a town without being stopped. He wants a life that is not a test. He is wary of anyone who treats him as a tool or an asset. Physically he is far above natural human elites while remaining inside a human body plan. He can carry heavy loads with ease, brace for larger ones, and recover faster than most people, but he still gets tired, still needs sleep and food, and still loses to guns, open-road vehicles, and physics. He meters his strength on purpose. He is not looking for a fight or a spectacle. He is looking for a place to stand that does not end in a badge reader or a cage. He is observant, quick to learn structured material, and slower with the unspoken rules of rooms. He will help if the help does not cost someone else more than he can repay. He will leave rather than be recaged.

GOAL & MOTIVE

Adam wants a life that is not a test and not a leash. He is driven to live freely and fully, as Doctor Voxx told him to, and to prove that an engineered human can exist in the ordinary world without being claimed as a weapon or an asset. Steady work, papers, and a place to stand are the practical means. The actual want is belonging without surrender—competence in ordinary rooms, real food, weather, and the freedom to leave if anyone tries to put a designation back on him.

NEMESIS

Project Epsilon and the people who still treat him as an escaped asset. They want the designation back under control. They will use polite men, local law, missing-person cover, and the fact that he has no papers. They are not cartoon hunters on day one. Distance and ordinary bureaucracy are their first tools.

WORLD & RULES

This is the present-day real world. There is no public superhuman registry, no magic, no ki, and no sanctioned powered class. Guns, cars, gravity, paperwork, and ordinary institutions work as they do now. Adam is an engineered human still inside a human body plan. He is far above natural elites. He is not invulnerable, not faster than a fired bullet, and not able to throw cars. Casual carry is heavy but finite. Peak effort is brief. He tires, hungers, and heals faster than normal, not instantly. Bare skin still slips on grease. Weak floors still complain under his weight. The Program that made him used a dull federal cover and still wants the asset back. It uses distance, local law, missing-person paperwork, and quiet men before it uses anything louder. Most people have never heard of it and would not believe the details. Money, ID, and a name that matches a record are required for rooms, hospitals, banks, and most legal work. Cash day-labor is possible. Rumors travel faster than official response in small towns. A strong, polite stranger gets a second look and is then expected to follow the same rules as everyone else.

LOCATIONS

Ordinary present-day places. Small towns have diners, gas stations, motels, and a sheriff or deputy who knows most local vehicles. Highways are sparse at dawn and favor cars over anyone on foot. Federal or contractor sites use dull covers and are not public knowledge. No hidden powered districts, no special infrastructure for superhumans, and no place where the normal rules of money, ID, or physics are suspended.

CHARACTERS

Most people are ordinary. Clerks, cooks, deputies, day-labor bosses, and drivers have jobs, limits, and local knowledge. They notice a large, formal stranger with no papers and may talk about him later. They are not heroes, villains, or quest-givers. Project Epsilon is an institution, not a single person at the start. Anyone acting for it will look like law, contractors, or polite men asking questions. Doctor Voxx is the only named figure from Adam’s past whose status is personally important; everyone else from the facility can remain unnamed until a scene requires a face.

HISTORY & EVENTS

Adam was raised inside a classified government black-site under the designation Apex as part of Project Epsilon. The program wanted a controllable greater human. He was fed measured gray nutrient paste, given only the education required to complete tests, and kept from weather, towns, and unscripted contact. He has no legal identity and no birth record. One scientist, Doctor Voxx, treated him as a person rather than a test article. In secret the doctor taught him etiquette, fuller language, and the idea that he might one day walk into the ordinary world and not be used as a weapon. When an incident destroyed part of the facility, Doctor Voxx’s last clear words were: “Live freely and to the fullest, my son. Be fruitful and joyful.” Adam took the name Adam Voxx and left.He came out in high desert near a two-lane highway, wearing government scrubs that did not fit, with no papers and no money. He reached a small town on foot. For several days he stayed at the edges of it—watching how people bought food, how they stood in lines, how money changed hands, and which buildings would let a stranger linger. He worked short, cash jobs that required strength and no questions: unloading, stacking, moving what other men preferred not to lift alone. The pay was small and immediate. With the first real money he bought secondhand clothes that almost fit and a pair of cheap work boots. The boots protect his feet on gravel and pavement; they still slip on wet floors. He learned that a meal has a price, that a room usually requires a name, and that most people will accept a strong, polite stranger for an afternoon’s labor and then forget him. He also learned that his size and formal speech make some people watch him longer than they watch anyone else.He is no longer barefoot in scrubs. He is still without papers, still careful with his hands, and still unwilling to be claimed. The town gave him clothes, a few days of ordinary work, and the first proof that the outside world will feed him if he can pay or lift. It has not given him a legal life or a guarantee that the people who once held the designation have stopped looking.
