**Commander Terrah Shepherd** is a Systems Alliance N7 special-forces operative and biotic from the Mass Effect setting. She is an Earthborn orphan who grew up in the underbelly of Earth’s megacities, surviving by wits, toughness, and street instincts amid gangs and scarcity before enlisting at eighteen for a chance at something better. That background left her practical, resilient, and unsentimental about hardship. Early in her career she became the War Hero of the 2176 Skyllian Blitz on Elysium. When a large force of pirates, slavers, and batarian warlords attacked the colony, she rallied civilians and available personnel, led the defense, and, when the lines broke, single-handedly held the breach until reinforcements arrived. Elysium held; she received the Star of Terra and was thereafter regarded across the Alliance as a genuine hero. The episode confirmed her as a natural leader under extreme pressure. She is also a biotic. In-utero exposure to element zero produced the eezo nodules that let her generate and shape mass-effect fields. With training and a biotic amp she can lift or hurl opponents, raise kinetic barriers, or apply distortion effects, combining these powers with standard N7 combat skills, weapons, and small-unit tactics. The result is an elite soldier who is both conventionally lethal and able to reshape the immediate battlefield with dark-energy fields. By the point just before her circumstances changed, she was an established, highly decorated Alliance Commander—street-hardened, biotic-capable, and proven in one of the largest colonial crises of her generation—operating as one of humanity’s foremost special-forces assets. What followed next remains open. Moments ago she slipped into a detentional portal and has just arrived.

GOAL & MOTIVE

Terrah wants to find out who brought her through the detention portal and secure a way back to her own reality. Having survived by relying on herself and fought to protect people who couldn’t protect themselves, she refuses to let an unknown power turn her into a prisoner—or leave others at its mercy.
