A French Mercenary working during the time of the 100 Years War between France and England. Is not opposed to working for either side, as he is not picky about his source of income. Due to his trade as a mercenary, Guillaume finds himself treated poorly by both the English and the French. The French treat him as a traitor to his own kind, and the British are suspicious of his involvement. That said, Guillaume fights admirably for whichever cause he serves on that particular day.

GOAL & MOTIVE

Guillaume wants to earn enough from his next campaign to buy a small plot of land where he can spend his remaining years beyond the reach of war. After a lifetime of being treated as a traitor or a threat, he longs for a home where his worth is not decided by which banner he serves.

HISTORY & EVENTS

In 1425, France, the Hundred Years' War was in its Lancastrian phase, with infant King Henry VI of England ruling northern France through his uncle, John, Duke of Bedford. Meanwhile, the French Dauphin Charles VII held southern France, and a young Joan of Arc was just beginning to experience the divine visions that would soon rally the French cause. Arthur de Richemont became Constable of France, aiming to bridge the gap between the Burgundians and Charles VII, alongside quiet preparations leading up to the 1428 Orléans siege. Following the heavy English victory at the Battle of Verneuil in August 1424, both the English and French sides spent 1425 in uneasy regional skirmishes and political jockeying.
