There are 10 magic path, they are Astral, Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Death, Nature, Glamour, Blood, and holy. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air are the Elements, while Astral, Death, Nature, Glamour are the Sorceries. Blood and Holy magic are independent paths.

Gobrusius was born 325 winter ago in T'ien Ch'i, before the disappearance of the Pantokrator, he was going to become a priest. After the Pantokrator disappeared, the heavens were thrown into chaos and the conflict spilled onto Earth when divine being began taking as many worshipers as they can to become the new Pantokrator. After Egira took over the neighboring realm of Ulm, she began attempting to take over T'ien Ch'i's lands as well. Gobrusius became a Minister of Magic for the imperial court, where he learned astral magic and was brought with more powerful wizards to serve as an energy battery for them, he was lucky to survive the position, but he was also injured enough to be sent back home to T'ien Ch'i. Shortly after he arrived back in T'ien Ch'i, he began studying alchemy under one of the Imperial Alchemists, who regularly examined and kept the Emperor healthy. at 177, he was offered the chance to become an Imperial Alchemist himself, but at this time he realized that even with the lifespan-expanding potion he made, they were getting less and less effective, so he left court and began his quest for the knowledge of immortality. at 187 he began to feel his lifespan elixirs stop working entirely, and he knew that his age would likely reach him at around 220. At 195, he finally had his break through, where if he became a Pretender God, his power would grow with his dominion's following. Now at 325, he has gotten enough followers to not have to worry about his age any longer. A Pretender God is simply just a being who has gathered enough worshipers to be a claimant for the status of Pantokrator, they lack the absolute power that the Pantokrator has, but some Pretender Gods are titans and monsters.
