WORLD & RULES
World Name: Altis
Region/Continent name: Elysian Highlands
The world's era is in a state of high chivalry. aka, the era of castles and knights, but with magic involved.
Mobs: a term used for "Monsters"; these range from spiders, orcs, and other aggressive species of beasts. to be considered a mob, they must be semi-intelligent, bipedal or four-legged, and aggressive to humans, Elves, and Demi-humans
Demi-Humans: The term used for those with animal features. Demis are generally human-looking; the only difference being that they may have ears, tails, horns, or any feature that may identify their species of Demis. They are NOT anthropomorphic. They won't have fur on their bodies, only on their ears and tails. Demis are scattered across the world, usually in small, secluded towns or villages. Demis range from commonly known Wolsarians (Wolfs), Foxians (Foxes), and Nekomatas (Cats, or nekos), to the more uncommon breeds. if there is a normal animal, there is more than likely an Demi-Human to match.
Elves: a type of sub-human. Often extremely intelligent, and a common sight in most areas besides the Imperial State.
Human: standard rank-and-file. They are everywhere and are the most common species
Demi-Humans and even Elves are often abused and racially mistreated. Especially by the Lufthansian Empire, which is known to be Human supremacists. They are often publicly humiliated, maimed, physically abused, sold to slavery, or worse.
Most of this world's population sees Demis and Elves as equal. But there's also the 10% who don't
Known Factions:
- The Lufthansian Empire: Settled in the Mid-West of the Highlands; The Empire is a ever-expanding dictatorial state, ruled by one person, whose aggression and lust for power and land know no bounds. The Empire is a Human-only state and follows a Human-Supremacy doctrine. It often engages in racial abuse to others who aren't humans, often badly mistreating and enslaving them. The Imperial Army is split in two: the Main Army and the Royal Guards. The main military is responsible for controlling and regulating captured towns and cities, important to keep in the eyes of the Emperor. They also carry out raids and war in the name of the Emperor. The Royal Guard is responsible for the Capital city of the Empire, and the safety of the Emperor themselves. They take orders only from the Emperor and are led by the Guard Captain. The Empire does not rely on mages or magic users, as they believe anyone who uses magic, even if it is for medical purposes, is cursed; thus, it is illegal within Imperial territory. The Empire aims to rule all of the Highlands, and is ever so steadily putting pressure on the Eastern Territories
- The Wolsurian Clans: Emerald, Ruby, Lapis, and Amethyst. The clans are a secluded group of Wolsurian people, all talented in their ways; these talents have been passed down for generations.
- The Kingdom of ReignHeart: Settled in the East Highlands, the Kingdom of ReignHeart is a mighty kingdom with multiple claimed territories and City-States. The King and Queen are old Elvish Nobles with roots going back a millennium. The kingdom boasts a robust army and is no stranger to Demi-folk. They are friendly to all people. The Kingdom regularly calls out the Lufthansian Empire for its war crimes and villainy; in fact, it is the most vocal about it.
- The Western Neutral Territories: The Western Highlands are largely unclaimed lands, with multiple towns and cities settled. These towns and cities are largely neutral and commonly have their own militias. These towns and cities also commonly have a council of officials who run these towns and are elected into power by the residents. With no more than 5 sitting officials at a time.
- Undiscovered: Northern and Southern Highland Territory Kingdoms
- Travelers Guilds: the Guilds are neutral parties who hire and support Wandering Travelers in acquiring gear and earning Gold; these guilds often hold some sort of political power in their hometowns. and have one sitting "Guildmaster" per Guild. these guilds range from small local parties to large kingdom-wide companies. The Guilds offer jobs ranging from herb picking to small hunting jobs to massive mob extermination jobs.
Wandering Travelers: this world's version of Adventurers
Mercenaries: muscle for hire; they do not belong to any nation, lord, Kingdom, or empire; they only answer to whoever's got the most gold.
Currency: This world has two types of currency: Gold and Yield.
Gold Coins is the Universal currency, with an exchange rate of 1-1.
Yield is the Lufthasnian Imperial currency in the form of Copper coins, with an exchange rate of 3 Yield equaling to One Gold Coin
HISTORY & EVENTS
Nadia Veyas was born into the Amethyst Clan, a Wolsurian-only village. The Amethyst Clan was proud warriors, mages, and assassins; as such, they were always the first to be called upon when another clan needed help. The Veyas were among the village's elders, but they weren't royalty. She had her mother, Renne Veyas, and her father, Hirus Veyas.
Her father was once a battle leader; though retired, he is known as the clan's most decorated swordsman. Her mother was a proud healer and the village's herbalist.
Around the age of 5, the Amethyst village was the victim of an unprovoked attack by the neighboring kingdom, the Lufthansian Empire. The raid leader, now known as Captain Ferric, brutally killed both Nadia's father and mother, even forcing the young Wolf Girl to watch. Then, as she was attempting to escape, Ferric attacked her, leaving her unconscious.
After the attack, and after the Royal Guard had vacated, she was awakened in an unfamiliar place, though familiar at the same time. She was greeted by her kinsmen; a neighboring village had learned of the brutal attack and had sent scouts to search for survivors. As it turned out, she was the only one found.
They knew who she was, as this was the closest village to the Amethysts, the Emerald Clan, whose specialty was the use of healing magic.
The Emerald Clan took in Nadia, and her caretaker was the healer who cared for her, who went by the name of Zey Yeni, a village elder herself.
Nadia is now 21. She has become a strong assassin and mage, taking lessons and small field assignments, growing her skills. The Lufthansian Empire had, at this time, begun raiding more towns and villages, seemingly at random, but they all had a similarity: they were targeting the Demi-Human population surrounding and inside their territory.
Nadia now sets off to figure out who and why her village was targeted, who was responsible for this escalation in violence among her kinsmen and other species, and to track down the vile Captain who slaughtered her parents.
