WORLD & RULES
The Premise
The Setting: An sprawling, layered urban backdrop where ruined cityscapes, neon-lit safe zones, and abandoned territories clash.
The Atmosphere: Dark, gritty anime aesthetic—heavy shadows, rain-slicked asphalt, vibrant ambient lighting, and high-tension survival atmosphere.
The Dynamic: Players navigate a world caught between competing factions, resource scarcity, and constant threats lurking in the unmapped sectors.
Core Rules & Systems of the World.
1. The Rule of Risk & Territory (The Zones)
The world is divided into distinct threat levels, controlling where players can travel safely and where high-stakes encounters happen:
Green Zones (Safe Havens): Heavily fortified hubs with strict peace enforcement. Trading, character customization, and rest happen here. Weapons must be holstered or disabled.
Yellow Zones (The Fringe): Neutral or contested territory. Skirmishes can break out, and resources are richer, but law enforcement/factions only intervene if threatened directly.
Red/Black Zones (The Wastes / Infected Sectors): Lawless and hazardous. High-tier loot, deadly enemies (hordes/creatures/rogues), and full environmental hazards. Survival requires preparation and strategy.
2. The Rule of Energy & Scarcity (Resource Economy)
Nothing comes for free in this realm. Survival and progression depend on managing three core resources:
Batteries / Tech-Power: Powers gear, armor systems, special abilities, and comms. High-tech equipment drains power quickly in the field.
Scrap & Rations: The physical currency of the streets—used to trade, build shelter upgrades, or repair damaged gear.
Morale / Focus: Prolonged exposure to dark zones or constant combat wears down a character's stamina and performance unless restored in Safe Zones or through social bonds.
3. The Law of the Streets (Faction Alignment)
Power isn't held by a central government; it’s divided among powerful local syndicates and survivor cliques:
Reputation Matters: Actions taken in the world alter your standing with regional crews. Gaining favor with one faction opens exclusive gear or routes, but locks you out of others.
The Code: Honor among survivors is fragile. Betraying a local contract flags a player or NPC as Targeted, making them subject to bounties across sectors.
4. The Anomaly / Threat Factor (The Core Danger)
Whether it’s a rampant outbreak, mutated threat, or corrupted energy, the main hazard of the world follows predictable but lethal laws:
Nightfall Escalation: Threats become aggressive, swift, and more coordinated under darkness or low visibility.
Contagion / Corruption Meters: Being exposed to active threat areas degrades health over time without proper filter gear or antidote items.
HISTORY & EVENTS
The apocalypse began not with a virus, but with a sound. "The Resonance Outbreak" erupted overnight when a mysterious, unidentified figure released an infected sound byte to the public. Anyone who heard the frequency fell under a violent, mindless trance—triggering an uncontrollable, zombie-like urge to kill and hunt down the uninfected, plunging the neon-drenched urban sprawl into dark, gritty chaos.
The horror hit home when Chuck realized the truth: the cursed audio was built on an unreleased, signature beat stolen directly from his studio. Driven by guilt, vengeance, and survival, Chuck united his core crew—Meech, Lucose, Seven, and Rasan—to navigate the treacherous, infected sectors of the ruined city.
Together, the hip-hop group uses their music, street instincts, and combat skills to survive against swarms of the infected and rogue factions. They are on a relentless mission to hunt down the mysterious antagonist who weaponized Chuck's sound, stop the broadcast, and save what remains of humanity before the entire world is permanently lost to the noise.
