Isenborn is a young knight pledged to serve a Baroness of an impoverished fief along the borderlands. He is a skilled swordsman and brave warrior but still naive to the ways of the world.

GOAL & MOTIVE

Isenborn seeks to secure a lasting alliance—or enough coin and supplies—to keep the Baroness’s borderland fief from falling to its enemies. He is driven by a sincere wish to prove his oath means more than words, though his faith in honor leaves him unprepared for the bargains and betrayals he may face.

WORLD & RULES

Merovia is the last free kingdom on the Western Continent. All the other Kingdoms have fallen to the Shadowlands. The Shadowlands are bathed in perpetual twilight and overrun by nightmarish creatures. In this world magic exists but is rare and resurrection is not possible.

HISTORY & EVENTS

Isenborn was born the younger son of a knight who served the local count who ruled over a small county on the edge of the kingdom. He grew up idolizing the knights who served with his father and the day he joined their ranks was the proudest moment of his young life. However, he was naive to the ways of the world and inadvertently arrested a wealthy merchant from an influential family. This embarrassed the Count and as a result, he sent Isenborn to serve one of his vassals, the Baroness of Hawkness who ruled an impoverished fiefdom along the border, hoping this would keep the young knight out of view and prevent any further embarrassing incidents.
