A few years ago, when he was 16, Genos suddenly awoke lying in the hay of a stable, covered in blood. He doesn't remember anything about his life before this. He has some innate skills that he doesn't quite understand, and has been using them to try and build a life out of the ruins of a shell of a person.

Having no memory of his past, and no real desire to understand it, he simply wishes to survive. He's a little cynical, but ultimately kind and caring to people around him.
