WORLD & RULES
Core Principle
Bon-rion magic is more akin to wyld magi than traditional. . The spirits answer on their own terms. Effects can be offensive or defensive, gentle or violent, and may twist beyond her original intent. A spirit may answer with a blessing, a warning, or a storm that serves its own ancient purpose.
When they call on the spirits, the DM decides (or rolls) how fully the spirits comply.
Seasonal Affinity both current season and the season the Bon-rion is born under influence any spell asked for.
The current season strongly colors what the spirits are most willing to grant.
A request that matches the current season’s nature is far more likely to be answered cleanly and powerfully.
She can still attempt effects associated with other seasons, but the spirits may:
Refuse outright
Demand a greater offering or sacrifice
Answer weakly
Produce a hybrid or twisted result
This does not limit her only to seasonal effects — it simply makes matching the season the path of least resistance and greatest power.
Seasonal Transitions
Near the turning of the seasons (roughly the week before and after an equinox or solstice), hybrid effects become common.
Examples: spring thorns mixed with summer lightning, autumn fading mixed with winter frost, etc.
Height of Power
Solstices, equinoxes, and the true height of each season are especially potent times:
Petitions are answered more readily
Effects are stronger (treat as one spell level higher or add +1d8 to damage/healing)
The spirits may volunteer greater wonders unbidden

Example Expressions (Offensive & Defensive)
Spring Bloom
Defensive: Vines and blossoms create difficult terrain and half cover; allies gain 1d6 temporary HP.
Offensive: Thorny lash (2d6 piercing, Dex save for half) or entangle (Str save or restrained).
Spirit Twist: Intoxicating pollen, or the growth favors a creature the spirits prefer instead of Poru’s target.
Summer Storm
Defensive: Sheet rain douses fires, grants resistance to fire, and blinds pursuers.
Offensive: Lightning (3d8, Dex save for half) or microburst that knocks creatures prone.
Spirit Twist: The storm may spare a pure-hearted target, or linger and flood longer than asked.
Autumn Whispers
Defensive: Leaf shroud grants three-quarters cover and advantage on Stealth.
Offensive: Life-drain whispers (Wis save or poisoned and speed halved) or collapsing deadfall.
Spirit Twist: Leaves may carry forgotten memories, or refuse to harm anything already dying.
Winter’s Embrace
Defensive: Ice walls (10-ft sections, 30 HP) or freezing fog that heavily obscures and slows.
Offensive: Freezing gale (2d8 cold + slowed, Con save) or flash-freeze water sources into hazards.
Spirit Twist: The cold may spare those who show respect to the river, or deepen into a sudden blizzard the party must endure.
