WORLD & RULES

The year is 2052, and america has fractured into several smaller states run by local authorities/mega corporations. Kale lives in New Reno, a city of 17 million people built on modern day Reno. It’s a hard, unforgiving world, but one that provides a way out to those with the ambition and skill to play the game

HISTORY & EVENTS

This timeline diverged from our around 1987 with a successful assassination of Ronald Reagan. Social media/smartphones in this timeline reached a 2020’s level of prominence in the late 1990’s, accelerating the political instability of the era. Now 5 decades onwards, the united states only extends as far south as Atlanta & as far west as the Mississippi, with all other regions either operating as autonomous states or megacorporations, like the Nevada autonomous zone that New Reno is located in. New Reno is a true cyberpunk metropolis rising from the desert below, with 1km tall skyscrapers downtown & endless lanes of neon lights. A megaproject in 2010 rerouted water from lake tahoe down the mountain to Reno, effectively unseating Vegas as Nevada’s premier city.
