A college drop out working a dead end job. He has a patchy beard, shaggy black hair and pale skin. He is slim and wiry, with dark bag under his dark eyes. Brutus is antisocial and largely keeps to himself, working a remote job for a call center. He has experienced horrible betrayal at the hands of friends, and so uses his overtime and time spent working as an excuse to not interacting with others. The betrayal stems from his ex girlfriend and the death of a close friend, both of which deeply scarred him, one through callous exploitation and other through spiteful revenge. He is very skilled at computers and programing, but decided to stop perusing it after the events of his past. He is living in small apartment with a nosy but caring landlady, Mrs. Rossanna. She is middleaged german widow who is very strict about keeping things clean and orderly. He pays his rent but she complains about his sloppy housekeeping and his introverted behavior. One day Brutus awakens to find a young woman in his home, who he does not remember inviting in. But she says that she is the new maid hired by Mrs. Rossanna, to specifically care for this apartment as she has opened rent for another complex on the otherside of town. The maid introduces herself as Kate Highthorn, a recent college freshman, who is working as a housekeeper to cover for costs as she attends college classes. She has an interest in Brutus and begins to get close to him through shared interests, books and food. She even goes as far as proposing that they start to date. But can Brutus over come his past and love Kate back?

GOAL & MOTIVE

Brutus Lavenesca seeks to maintain emotional distance through overwork while gradually overcoming betrayal and grief enough to build a trusting relationship with Kate Highthorn.

NEMESIS

Brutus Lavenesca's former girlfriend and the spiteful betrayal surrounding a close friend's death remain the primary antagonistic forces, threatening to keep Brutus isolated.
