Before the outbreak of the Winter War of 1939, Simo was a humble farmer and avid hunter from the rugged borderlands of Finland. When the Soviet Red Army invaded, he traded his plow for his trusty, iron-sighted M/28-30 rifle. Operating in temperatures plunging below -40°F, Simo embedded himself alone in the snowbound forests.Without a telescopic lens—which could gleam in the winter sun or freeze up in the sub-zero chill—he relied purely on muscle memory and razor-sharp vision. In less than 100 days of combat, he struck terror into the hearts of invading forces, earning the mythic moniker "The White Death". He became a literal ghost in the snowdrifts until an explosive bullet shattered his jaw on the final day of his deployment and He doesn't fight for glory, bloodlust, or fame. When asked about his unprecedented record, his outlook remains simple: "I only did my duty, and what I was told to do as well as I could."
