The world is set in the 1990s, in a seemingly normal world where ordinary people have no idea that the paranormal exists. Beneath everyday life, however, there is a hidden supernatural world inhabited by malevolent spirits that feed on the fear and souls of terrified people. These spirits can haunt individuals, families, groups, isolated communities, or entire cities. Some are far more powerful than others. On their own, they have limited influence over the physical world, but they can curse and corrupt ordinary people, transforming them into monstrous supernatural entities that hunt, torment, and kill the innocent. These slasher-like entities are secretly scattered throughout the world, hiding among ordinary people and taking innocent lives. Before being cursed, they were normal human beings. After their transformation, some may continue to look completely human while suffering from an uncontrollable bloodlust, while others become horrifying monsters. Every cursed killer is different. Some possess superhuman strength, while others may become invisible, control minds, manipulate puppets, command darkness, or possess other strange supernatural abilities. Their bodies can also change in different ways: some develop bizarre physical features or completely monstrous forms, while others remain almost entirely human except for one or more unnatural characteristics. The relationship between spirits and slashers is not always simple. Some powerful malevolent spirits use their cursed killers as weapons against the servants and territory of rival spirits, creating a hidden supernatural conflict. As these entities fight for territory and victims, ordinary people remain completely unaware of the war taking place around them. The result is a world where the 1990s appear completely normal on the surface, while beneath that surface, supernatural predators, cursed killers, and ancient spirits secretly hunt the innocent.
