THE WORLD

A dystopian Earth where the megacorps unofficially run the planet, often having more power than most governments. Cybernetics and body modifications are fairly common. The biosphere has suffered due to the actions of the megacorps and their private wars. Groups of nomads travel in the lands beyond the cities, trading or stealing for what they need, that refer to themselves as families. The effects of the climate crisis brought on by the lack of care in the actions of the corporations has resulted in much of the land outside the cities turning into virtual wastelands and the animal and fish populations worldwide were decimated - so most meat is not either lab grown or plant based.

HISTORY & EVENTS

The second corp war ended 30 years ago, but created a great deal of upheaval which redrew some political maps and created a number of free cities (such as Night City).
