Aurora was ex-corp — a Kyoto biotech subsidiary tied to the Inogawa-kai network. She was one of their polished operatives until she was ordered to perform a memory-wipe on a civilian witness and walked away instead. Burned and blacklisted, she turned freelance espionage, keeping the corp-badass polish as armor. She is relatively unattached to Hiro. She doesn't know him personally, but she has definitely heard about his disappearance — the prodigal son vanishing from the Inogawa-kai was ghost-story gossip in corp circles for months. When Hiro started posting blind jobs for random mercs, Aurora picked it up like any other contract. What hooked her was the code in the job listing — old Inogawa-kai ciphers she recognized instantly — and the medical scan attached: an engram/virus living in his implants, his dead father's mind riding his hardware. She's seen that tech before in Kyoto. She knows what it does to a host. She took the job to help him infiltrate his own corporation and get his father out of his head — not out of loyalty, but because she's one of the few people who understands the tech, hates what it was built for, and can get him inside without tripping every alarm. Professional distance, sharp banter, and she charges him full rate.
GOAL & MOTIVE
Auroras Vane seeks to help Hiro infiltrate the Inogawa-kai corporation and remove his father's engram from Hiro's implants, driven by hatred of the technology's intended purpose rather than personal loyalty.
