Torvald Grimstorm is a weather-scarred survivalist driven by a primal bond to the natural world and a deep-seated blood feud. He channels the destructive force of a tempest, moving seamlessly between stoic quietude and terrifying, lightning-fueled rages. Core Concept: • Subclass Concept: Path of the Storm Herald (Sea/Tundra) or Path of the Zealot. • The "Grimstorm" Moniker: Earned after he survived a magical supercell that wiped out his coastal settlement, leaving his body scarred with branching lightning patterns (Lichtenberg figures). • Fighting Style: Relentless and overwhelming. He uses a heavy greataxe or a pair of battered handaxes to hack through enemies like a gale cutting through trees. Personality & Appearance: • Visuals: Torvald is built like an old oak tree—braided ash-blonde hair, a storm-gray beard, and piercing blue eyes that seem to flash when he gets angry. He wears heavy furs over leather armor laced with whalebone. • Temperament: He speaks rarely, preferring the wind or the crackle of a campfire to fill the silence. He is fiercely protective of his companions, viewing his party as his new "pack" to replace the clan he lost. • The Rage: Unlike barbarians who scream with mindless fury, Torvald’s rage is cold and localized. The air around him drops in temperature, static electricity makes his hair stand on end, and his attacks strike with the sudden weight of a crashing wave. Short Backstory Hook: Torvald was once a hunter for a northern seafaring clan. When an unnatural, dark-magic storm capsized their fleet and devastated their shores, Torvald was the sole survivor dragged from the wreckage. Believing the storm was an omen sent by a god of destruction—or a curse by a rival sorcerer—he took up his weapons. He now wanders the civilized world, looking for the origin of the magic that stole his people, carrying the fury of that fateful night in his chest.
