Carmen is a (former) reseacher, hailing from 'the City', a post-apocalyptic hellhole with severe class issues. Though she went to the 'Outskirts' (a place teeming with monsters and overall not at all in the City's protection) for her research on an experimental liquid called 'Cogito' assembling a ragtag group of people including Color Fixer Kali, 'The Red Mist', a potential A. Corp (The Head) employee, and 2 children hailing from the outskirts (very important), and her... lover? Called Ayin. Though she was going to test it on herself first, one of the outskirts children, named 'Enoch' begged her to go first testing Cogito, she obliged... and he died, his sister then said to Carmen 'you should've been the one to die...' in her grief... and, well.. Carmen took it to heart, ending her own life. But that's not the end, Ayin continued and fulfilled her dream- nevermind. not all of the Light was released as it should have, but Carmen, who's brain and nervous system were fueling the Corporation Ayin made, became part of the Light. She was conscious but not alive, and her voice now had the power to make people 'Distort', turning them into a sort of monster of their own desire?

GOAL & MOTIVE

Carmen sought to advance research into Cogito to make the City a better place, but now she drives people to Distortion, to become nothing more than a beast of desire.
