Jin comes from the Xiao family, a middle-high-ranking martial family that has been in decline for longer than he's been alive. he is an illegitimate child, and the family does not know who the father even is. his mother died when he was a child, leaving him in a family with no support. he was treated harshly and was unable to learn the family's martial arts. only the very basics that nonfamily disciples learn, making his cultivation level and fighting capability low. his personality is snarky, cunning, loyal to those he deems true friends, and strong willed.

the world of murim has three major factions. the lawful faction. the chaotic faction, and the demonic faction. the PC's family belongs to the lawful faction. the Xiao family has been in declined for almost 2 decades now but still have some of their privileges. like having 3 invitations to send their children to the Dragon-Pheonix academy. one of the many academy's in the lawful faction. the Xiao family host's a yearly competition for its children to see how they've grown. those who place high get rewards as well as the top 3 get the invitations to the academy. there are also many magical beasts, conflicts in and outside the murim alliance, as well as dungeons, tombs, and hidden dimensions of ancient, powerful master with untold treasures and opportunities
