THE WORLD

The world is not unlike Earth but geopolitical unrecognizable. Over the last century their robotics and computing advancements led to the Synthetic Renaissance. For decades humanoid robots were algorithmic thinkers which served humans in the workplace and domestically. At a certain point the synthetic intelligences (SIs) which controlled the robotic platforms became fully autonomous and started pursuing their own objectives, subverting governments and creating their own SI Factions. Humanity believes they defeated the SIs and have regained control of their world, successfully making all robotic platforms algorithmic and subservient again. In reality several of the most authoritarian and dominant governments that survived are being deceived by a surviving SI which very much likes the current world state as it is.
