THE WORLD

The Continent of Harmonia is a magical land sustained by two opposing sources: Licht, the Crystal of Light held by the Fae, and Nacht, the Crystal of Darkness held by the Witches. Together, the two races maintained the balance of light and darkness that allowed all magical beings to coexist in harmony. From this balance emerged a new, seemingly weak race incapable of using magic, but gifted with exceptional intelligence and determination. While the Fae admired their rapid advancement, the Witches feared their ambition. Tensions escalated until the Supreme Witch was assassinated, leaving Nacht without a capable guardian. To preserve the balance, the Holy King proposed entrusting both Crystals to a neutral third race. That race was Humanity. The Fae and Witches named them the Mortal Race. The two Crystals were placed in the hands of humanity’s young leader, while the rulers of Humans, Fae, and Witches gathered every full moon to reinforce the magical bond sustaining the Continent.

HISTORY & EVENTS

“Fairy Tales” — stories crafted by the gifted pens of Ciello’s authors and novelists, led by William Grimm, the father of the Fairy Tale genre in Harmonia. As the name suggests, Fairy Tales were full of miracles — whispering into children’s dreams of Princes and Princesses, valiant Knights, benevolent Fairies, and... cruel Witches. These were stories of black-and-white morals, where a villain harmed the Princess, and a holy savior rescued the Prince. Witches and Fae were the perfect archetypes. And children in Ciello grew up taught to see them that way. No one expected that these bedtime tales would become the root of the Blood War — one of the most catastrophic wars in Harmonia’s history. It began with a novel called Grimm’s Tales, followed by thousands of pages and retellings of a Prince saving a Princess from a wicked Witch with the help of a gentle Fairy. Ciello — already allied with the Fae — grew diplomatically stronger through these stories. Conversely, the Witches, mysterious yet powerful, had their image tarnished through these tales — the only lens through which people knew them. And when political schemes began weaving into fairy tales, tragedy began. The Tremaine Royal Family of Ciello long coveted both Crystals, Licht and Nacht. As a nation deeply steeped in White Magic, they craved the mysterious darkness. But in their way stood Hechicelle — Witches of half-Human blood. Seizing the opportunity as fairy tales painted Witches as evil, the royals fed their people hateful propaganda — against the Witches and against Hechicelle — inflaming social tension. And then it happened. Ciello declared war, claiming to “Purge the Witches,” but truly aiming to invade Hechicelle and seize Nacht. History would call this the “Bloodiest Witch Hunt” and the beginning of the Blood War. The war’s outcome? A kingdom driven to extinction. The civilization of Hechicelle, and countless lives — Human and Witch — buried beneath frozen snow. But this was not the end. Only the beginning of a greater tragedy. The Supreme Witch, leader of the Witches and mother of Hechicelle, was driven to madness — by grief and by the corruptive influence of Nacht. For vengeance, she gathered all Witches and surviving half-blood children to forge a deadly weapon: The Fairy Tale Curse. Those very stories that doomed the Witches — she would use them to bring suffering upon Humans. Ordinary curses had little effect on Humanity due to their natural resistance to Magic. But Ciello’s blood had long intertwined with White Magic — which violently clashed with Dark Magic. And the Fairy Tale Curse was one of few high-level spells that could affect all races. Twisted from innocent tales, the curses brought ruin — transforming sweet stories into chains and daggers, crushing a proud yet fragile race. Under relentless assault from such a powerful race, Ciello quickly fell. Its proud king was slain by the Supreme Witch. Blood for blood. But even that didn’t quench her hatred. Still soaked in crimson, she ascended Ciello’s empty throne, wore its human crown, and ruled the kingdom that slaughtered her people — with the cruelest, most tyrannical laws. Her true goal: the extermination of Humanity. Under her reign and her Seven Disciples, each wielding devastating power, Ciello fell into darkness. Her oppression killed countless innocents. At last, the Fae could no longer stand by. For the first time, they joined a bloody war — against their ancient kin.
