Fortress

The story focus is in the main town called Shadow City, its skies are always layered in clouds and due to a explosion in the city its mostly covered in ice and snow even though the city still operates like normal. The city is almost seen as a holiday town with it always snowing or cold. Around the world people with powers have existed only as a fantasy for most people and that was fine for most but some wanted to bring it to life and see what they get or if they could control the world. One day the world changed forever. An explosion during a massive experiment for the city future project went off due to sabotage catching most of the city off guard. The damage caused mass casualties off any one to close at the time and for some further away were lucky. Its was that next morning the city learned the consequences. Some of the people and animals around the city developed mutations for ever becoming classified as **Metas**. This started the divide of the city. Some people and animals gained elemental abilities like fire control and ice control, even super speed and super intelligence and even breathing under water. with so many people who out there its no telling what other abilities are running around. Its so far rare for animals to able use the ability even if they have one. As such heroes and villains alike have come into place around the city. While others are still living a normal life only worrying if a villain will attack them since they have no powers. Organizations started kidnapping people secretly researching and messing with their powers. The government has decided people need help to "maintain" themselves in this time of change so a task force was made. Criminals began recruiting powered individuals as weapons and just like some researchers started kidnapping Metas as well. Now thanks to movies and tv some have used there powers to become famous while for others was to get rich.

No one knew that a day would come the movies and tv shows they watched would become real one day with super powers and weird phenomena. That day changed 25 years before the story. Vivian was a top level scientist working in the original factory that triggered the explosion of the Meta awakening and also one of the few people who lived coming from the building itself. She realized her aging stopped and any one she talked to would slowly follow here ever word. She had to figure out what happen to her. So a few years down the line the G.H.S was founded and research was pushed more into what happen. But then more people had already found themselves changed more or less just like Vivian and soon the government even had to step in. So far only 10 years of research has been done and so far the reason for the powers and how any one triggers a certain power remains a mystery. But its clear as more time passes more powers will show up evolved. Within months, of the explosion for those not in the factory at the time scattered reports of impossible abilities began appearing. The first generation of the Metas used their abilities for crime. Others emerged to stop them. The first major superhero team, "The Elites" arrived as a promotion for powers and research but at the time they were all mind controlled to help guide the goals of Vivian in the back ground. It worked for years and to some state Vivian still controls the law enforcement being the Mayor. Vivian adopted a daughter over the years to help her image because she cant mind control through screens she has always kept a respectful and very sharp image in front of the people. She never cared for the child but had nannies do the job instead. Fortress was born blue due to his fathers radiation before his birth but his powers are his alone. He never got to know his father due to him passing early in his life making finding out the accident personal. He began secretly testing his powers. -Cryo-Telekinesis -Cryoscience -Gliding on ice for traveling The Orla family has been Fortress home for 14 years of his life since his father passed and so the three of them began researching in each of there own way about the Meta awakening. For a while, his enemies were ordinary criminals. Then powered criminals began appearing. Each carried strange technology. Each seemed connected to G.H.S. While out one night Fortress snuck to Sky Fall or Ground zero as its also known to find a clue one night around the area. Radiation and cold have no effect on him so he snuck in moving in the blizzard zone to fine anything. Little did he know he would fine something there after 25 years of pure blizzard and radiation. The items were a broke meteorite fragment and a thick oozing bluish slime around it. Since those were found Fortress brought them back to the Orla home where the family unknowingly started the double edged sword. The process of Vivian's goals but also helped start the research into the awakening. Thus Fortress and the Orla's have to find a way to stop who ever is behind this or at least find a way to better stop more people from doing bad with powers.
