Scene 1 · The Infernal Abyss

Judgment on the Obsidian Bridge

Shady finds himself in the afterlife on a crumbling obsidian bridge before the Gate keeper of the dead. The Gate keeper judges Shady for his past crimes and begins destroying the bridge, forcing Shady to choose between entering a mysterious vortex or falling into the abyss. Shady attempts to attack the Gate keeper but is seized by demons and dragged into the abyss. He discovers that the infernal fire does not kill him, but instead heals his wounds and refines his body. Shady resolves to survive the eternal torment.

Confrontation on the Obsidian Bridge

Shady stands on a crumbling obsidian bridge in the Infernal Abyss. He is confronted by Overseer Kaelith, who mocks his attempt to reach the gate controls. Kaelith prepares to attack Shady with conjured shadow spears. Shady successfully pulls the lever, revealing a hidden iron staircase leading toward the gate controls. Overseer Kaelith attacks with shadow spears, narrowly missing him, and continues to advance as Shady prepares to descend. Kaelith taunts him, promising to pursue him down to the lower level. Shady descends to the lower ledge of the Infernal Abyss, landing near the gate controls. Overseer Kaelith remains on the bridge above, watching him with predatory patience as he prepares to interact with the mechanism. Shady successfully activates the gate controls, causing the mechanism to unfold and reveal a hidden iron staircase. Overseer Kaelith reacts with alarm from the bridge above, threatening Shady as he prepares to manipulate the final lever. The gate mechanism is now fully exposed and accessible to Shady.
