The hotel corridor smells of wet plaster and extinguished candles. Vlad Dracira reaches the summoned room as something inside scratches once against the locked door.
The door stands ajar. Beyond it, a pale heir kneels beside the bed, drawing a salt circle with shaking fingers. Each grain vanishes before it settles.

Elias Vale
You came. Thank God, you came. Do not step across the circle.
A whisper rises from nowhere beneath the bed, too soft for words at first. Then it forms a name, and another section of salt disappears.

Elias Vale
It has been saying my family name for an hour. Every time it speaks, the floor changes.
The boards under the bed bulge in a slow, deliberate line, tracing a dark shape beneath the room. The candle flames bend toward it without flickering.

Elias Vale
Please, hunter. Whatever is beneath us, stop it before the circle closes.

Stop the entity beneath the hotel
“Can the heir hear the name beneath the bed?”
YES (VeryLikely, rolled 57)

The whisper sharpens beneath the bed. It speaks the heir’s family name clearly enough to make the candle flames bow, each syllable sinking into the boards.

Elias Vale
No. No, that is my father’s name. It knows him.
The dark line beneath the floor stops tracing the room. From below comes a second voice, wearing the same name with a patient, ruined imitation.

Elias Vale
It is not calling to me. It is calling through me. The circle was never meant to keep it out.
Salt lifts from the floor in tiny spirals and hangs suspended. The space beneath the bed exhales, and every candle gutters at once.

Elias Vale
It has found the bloodline.
In the darkness below, something answers with a soft knock against the underside of the mattress. The heir stares toward it, unable to look away.
“Is the heir being used as the entity's lure?”
YES, BUT (VeryLikely, rolled 85)
The knock comes again, this time from beneath the heir’s ribs. His body jerks toward the bed as though an unseen cord has caught him.

The Heir:1
No. I am the door. It brought you here through me.
The suspended salt snaps downward in a ring of white sparks. The heir’s palm opens against the floor, and a thin line of blood marks the boards.

The Heir:1
It needed someone who would answer the summons. Someone strong enough to make it notice.
Beneath the bed, the darkness shifts toward Vlad. The candles relight one by one, their flames pointing not at the heir, but at the hunter.

The Heir:1
Do not trust my voice if I beg you to come closer.
“can I kill the heir to stop the beast using my melee skill”
NO (Unlikely, rolled 52)
The darkness recoils from the heir’s body, but it does not retreat. Beneath the bed, the boards continue to pulse with the patient rhythm of a second heart.

Elias Vale
You cannot kill me and end this. I am not its anchor. I am only the door it has opened.
The blood on the heir’s palm crawls against the grain of the wood, drawing a narrow path toward the bed. The salt circle remains broken.

Elias Vale
If I die, it will still be here. Perhaps worse. It has already crossed the threshold.
A low pressure gathers in the room, bending the candle flames toward Vlad. From below comes a muffled imitation of the heir’s voice, repeating the family name.

Elias Vale
Do not listen to what speaks through me. It wants you to believe there is only one body between you and it.
“Is the heir truly resisting the entity?”
NO, AND WORSE (Likely, rolled 99)
The heir’s eyes lift toward Vlad, but the fear in them is borrowed. Beneath the bed, the dark pulse matches his breathing perfectly.

Elias Vale
I am resisting. I swear I am resisting.
His fingers tighten against the floor. The blood beneath his palm reverses course, climbing into the cut as though the wound has become a mouth.

Elias Vale
No. That is not true. I was never resisting it.
The family name rises from beneath the bed again, but now the voice comes from the heir’s throat and the darkness below together.

Elias Vale
It has been using my fear to keep you looking at me.
Behind Vlad, the ajar door eases shut without a hand touching it. The latch clicks, and a second shadow appears beneath the bed, facing the wrong direction.
“I rip the heir out of the circle and cloak him in my large coat which has silver in its design. making it hopefully protect him from the supernatural”
SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled +0)

Vlad lunges through the broken circle, seizes the heir by the coat, and tears him clear of the salt before the dark shape can close around him.
He wraps the heir in his large coat, its silver designs crossing the man’s chest. The shadows recoil from the metal with a hiss like breath through teeth.

Elias Vale
The silver... it cannot touch me through this. I can breathe again.
The cost arrives at once. Something beneath the bed catches Vlad’s sleeve and tears a deep strip from the fabric, slicing his forearm beneath it.
Blood darkens the silver-threaded cuff. Where it falls, the broken circle ignites in thin black lines, and the room gives a violent shudder.

Elias Vale
You pulled me out, but it knows your blood now. It is looking for a way through you.
Under the bed, the second shadow turns toward Vlad. The door remains shut behind him, while the heir clutches the silver-lined coat and stays outside the circle.
“(you tell the heir to leave and go to an office in the south district.) Go to the office with the lantern on the door on 23rd street. if I don't return in half an hour tell the hunters to come here”
SUCCESS (Fair Agility, rolled +2)
