Adventure of Jade 1

Jade arrives beneath the enchanted grove’s silver boughs as roots wrench themselves from the earth, scattering luminous soil across the moss.

A column of divine light descends through the canopy. Within its radiance, a vast half-formed silhouette gathers, more presence than body, trembling above the rune-ring.

Rei stands inside the glowing circle, boots braced between burning sigils. Strands of silver force coil around her arms as she strains to hold the presence back.

The grove shudders. Branches bend away from the descending radiance, while the runes flare in uneven pulses, answering something neither sister understands.

Jade studies the rune-ring through the wavering divine light, tracing its pulses from sigil to sigil without touching the burning circle. Each mark seems to answer another.

As Jade follows the pattern, the symbols turn beneath her gaze. Their ancient shapes overlap, then rearrange into a closed spiral that hides the original sequence.

The spiral flashes. Silver force lashes across the moss and severs the visible paths between the runes, leaving each sigil isolated and unreadable.

Above them, the half-formed silhouette tilts toward Jade. The divine light narrows, and the rune-ring falls silent except for one darkened sigil beneath Rei's boots.

The darkened sigil splits without sound. Beneath it, the moss pales into ash, and a second presence presses upward through the empty shape.

The divine silhouette convulses above the circle. Its unfinished face turns away as black roots of light spread from the broken sigil toward every other mark.

A low sound rolls through the trees, too deep for any throat. Rei's silver bindings strain, and one luminous strand snaps, releasing a burst of cold across the moss.

Jade closes her hands around the ring linked to the demigod. Her aura brightens from a guarded glow into warm gold, washing quietly across the fractured rune-ring.

The ring answers with a steady pulse. Through that bond, the divine silhouette settles, and the black roots of light slacken without vanishing.

The calming radiance reaches the broken sigil and closes its wound enough to seal the passage. The ash beneath Rei's boots turns green again.

The cost comes at once: heat bites through Jade's palm, and the ring draws a thin thread of her magic into itself. Her aura remains bright, but her strength falters.

Above the sisters, the unfinished face turns toward Jade without menace. Divine light gathers around its outline, quiet as dawn beneath the silver boughs.
