Wanted: Post a Request You Wish Someone Would Play
The Tavern now takes requests. Post the tale you want to read with any Tavern hero, upvote the requests other readers have posted, or take one up yourself and play it. When you share the finished tale, it links back to the request, and the reader who asked for it gets told.

What a Wanted request is
A Wanted request is a short story pitch attached to a Tavern hero: a title and a premise of up to 300 characters describing the tale you wish someone would play with them. It lives in a new Wanted section on the hero's Tavern page, just below the tales already shared with that hero.
Anyone signed in can read the wall. Beyond that, three roles meet there:
- Requesters post the pitch. To post, you need to have completed at least one quest in a tale of your own, the same bar we use for listing a hero. You can keep up to three requests open at a time, one per hero. Creators can post on their own heroes too, which is a fine way to tell recruits what you'd love to see done with them.
- Voters upvote the requests they want to read. Any signed-in player can vote, and you can leave a short public comment with your vote, signed with your Tavern persona. The one exception: you can't upvote your own request. That one is for everyone else to judge.
- Players take a request up and play it. Again, anyone signed in except the requester. More on that below.
Requests cost nothing to post, vote on, or take up. Hero creators can hide requests on their own heroes, and readers can report anything that doesn't belong on the wall.
And despite what the poster says, there's no bounty. Nobody gets paid for answering a request. It's all about having fun together.
Ask for the tale you want, or back someone else's
Open any hero in the Tavern and scroll to Wanted: tales with . Requests are sorted by votes, so the pitches readers care about most rise to the top. If one of them is the story you were hoping for, hit the arrow to upvote it, add a comment if you have a twist in mind, and it climbs.
If nobody has asked for the story you want yet, click Post a request. Write the idea as if you were describing the opening scene, because that's exactly what it becomes for whoever plays it. "Tarran is cursed and turns into a small girl. Can she adjust to human society or find a way to become a monster again?" is a request. "Something cool with Tarran" is not.

Take a request up and play it
See a request you'd like to answer? Click Take this up. If you don't have your own copy of that hero yet, the Tavern recruits one for you, free as always, and drops you on their character sheet with a new adventure ready to start. The request's premise is loaded as the opening intent, so the first scene opens on exactly the situation the reader asked for. Edit the premise if you want to put your own spin on it, or switch to the usual Where, What, Who, Why keywords and seed the opening your own way.
From there it's a normal LiveTale adventure. Play it however you like, for as many scenes as it takes. There's no deadline, and no exclusivity either: several players can take up the same request, and the reader gets to enjoy every version.
Share the tale, and it answers the request
When your tale is ready for readers, share it with the Tavern the same way you always have. The share dialog now knows which request you started from and shows This tale answers a Wanted request, already ticked. The heading links to the request itself, so you can re-read the pitch before you publish. If your hero is a recruit of someone with several open requests, you can tick more than one; a single tale can answer several pitches on the same hero.
Once the tale is listed, three things happen. Your tale appears under the request on the hero's page, in a new Answered fold, so readers who voted for it find it right where they asked. The reader who posted the request gets an email that their pitch has been played, with a link straight to your tale. And your tale shows up in the Tavern's tales gallery like any other shared tale, earning the usual share credit for completed quests and concluded chapters.

Finding requests worth playing
Wanted requests show up wherever heroes do. In the Tavern's browse view, a hero card with open requests carries a small wanted badge with the count, and the filter bar gains a Wanted chip that narrows the roster to heroes with at least one open request, ranked by how many votes those requests have gathered. If you're a player looking for a prompt, that chip is where the audience is already waiting.
Why we built it
This came straight from one of you: a creator with more than a dozen heroes in the Tavern who told us, "Some of us just want to make stories for others." Wanted gives those creators an audience that speaks first, and it gives readers a way to shape what gets played without having to play it themselves. The best tales in LiveTale have always been the ones someone was waiting to read. Now you can say so out loud.
So go pin something to the wall. Ask for the tale you want, upvote the ones you'd read tonight, and if a request catches you, take it up. Someone is hoping you will.
