Lore Book: give your character a world to remember

Write your world down once, and the storyteller treats it as canon. Lore Book is a new, experimental per-character world reference that keeps your adventures consistent.

Meet the Lore Book, a place to write down your world so the storyteller remembers it.

Ever had the AI forget a character you introduced, or wander off somewhere that just doesn't fit your world? The Lore Book is our first tool aimed squarely at that. It's a world reference you write yourself, attached to a character, that the storyteller treats as authoritative.

One Lore Book per character

Every character can have its own Lore Book. Open a character's sheet and you'll find a new Lore Book panel. When it's empty, a single button gets you started, so it never gets in the way if you'd rather just play.

Four sections to describe your world

A Lore Book is made of four free-form sections:

  • The World — the setting, tone, and the rules of your reality
  • Locations — the places that matter
  • Characters — the people (and non-people) who populate your story
  • History & Events — what happened before your adventure began

Write as much or as little as you like in each one. Anything you put here, the storyteller will reach for first: your named places, your established cast, your history.

It applies to every active adventure

A Lore Book is corrective by nature. Usually you write it because the AI got something wrong, and you shouldn't have to start a brand-new adventure to fix it. So your edits take effect immediately across all of that character's active adventures. Save your changes, and the storyteller picks them up on your very next scene.

Experimental, and we'd love your feedback

The Lore Book is an experimental feature, our latest step toward more consistent storytelling. It nudges the storyteller hard toward your world, but it won't be flawless every time. If you've set up a Lore Book and the story still drifts from what you intended, please let us know. Those reports are exactly how we make it better.

Cheers,
