Scene 1: High Speed Pursuit in the Rain

Location: Industrial district intersection

The rain hammers against the windshield of the sedan. The needle on the speedometer trembles near ninety. Anna grips the steering wheel, her knuckles white. Ahead, a black SUV swerves through the rain, drifting dangerously across the center line.

Detective Miller: “You are pushing the engine too hard, Anna. We are going to lose control if you keep driving like a madwoman.”

Anna (thinks): He is right, but the suspect is accelerating into the industrial district. Every second I hesitate, the trail of my father's killer grows colder.

A heavy transport truck suddenly pulls out from a side alley, blocking the intersection. The black SUV barely clips the rear bumper, spinning wildly toward the wet pavement. Anna slams on the brakes, the car skidding sideways as the road surface turns into a slick, unforgiving sheet of ice.

Detective Miller: “Hold on, we are going to hit the median!”

Anna (thinks): If we collide, the investigation dies here, but if I swerve toward the narrow alley gap, I might just catch them before they vanish into the sprawl.
